We were tired enough by this time to consider seriously the idea of holing up for the night and continuing on in the morning. The falling snow kind of cinched that for us. So we took a room at the Manning Park Lodge and settled in.

Mmmmm, spooky.
It was really surprising how fast the evening switched from being normal overcast to serious snowfall. Had we been not tired from a very full several days, we likely would have just driven through it and found more clement weather on the other side of Alison Pass.
But then we would have missed the sight of late spring snowfall on the trees and rivers; Manning is particularly beautiful with a light dusting.
